Best Stores for Shopping with your Dog
December 4, 2018
Holiday shopping is already underway and you might find yourself leaving your dog at home more than usual to shop for everyone on your list. If this leaves you feeling guilty, consider taking your dog shopping with you. Did you know that many large retailers have policies that allow well-behaved dogs in stores? Before you go, make sure your dog will be at ease around crowds and children. Be prepared for accidents, and keep your dog's physical needs in mind. If she's getting tired and stressed, it's time to go.
As a general guideline, outdoor malls and markets, stores with outdoor sections (like hardware stores), and pet suppliers are a safe bet and a good place to start. Dogs are not allowed in areas where food is served and prepared. Know that rules may vary by location, and stores may require dogs to stay in your cart, so give them a call if you aren't sure.
